Dedicated Senior York College student looking to put to use my multidisciplinary software development skills. I have co-led a large-scale multidisciplinary client-based project to develop and deploy a 1-ton, auto-locating, auto-tracking, remote-controlled radio telescope for the York County Astronomical Society. My current plan is to graduate in December 2022.

Work
Radio Telescope
Joining York College’s senior design project as a sophomore, I have worked with computer science and engineering students to develop a 15ft, 1-ton, auto-locating, auto-tracking, remote-controlled radio telescope placed. The telescope will reside in John Rudy Park for the York County Astronomical Society. As a junior, I was a co-team lead working with the other engineering leads to integrate our software with the current hardware state and onboarding new members.
I have worked on our control room environment, which was based in C# and allowed us to send commands directly to our telescope to produce user-generated movements. As a senior with my team, I am currently developing a new version of our past admin app allowing the admins to control the telescope securely from their phones. Clients are involved directly, and we have weekly standup meetings to allow client feedback on current projects. We follow an agile structure by holding weekly standups and milestones for clients and professors to criticize constructively.
YCP Hacks
I am the current team lead coordinating York College of Pennsylvania’s yearly hackathon, YCP Hacks. This event attracts ~150 participants from colleges around the area. This event facilitates a creative and rewarding environment to expand the attendee’s knowledge. This is an entirely student-run organization; we are in charge of running the operation and raising $10,000+ for expenses. We have raised funds and donations from companies like Google Cloud, 1Password, Becton Dickinson, and many more local companies.
